About Blog

Life with little people is so amazing, exhausting, overwhelming and hilarious that to keep my sanity I just gotta Spill It.  Once upon a time I was convinced that most mothers had it all together and I was the glaring exception.  Best keep this secret to myself I thought.  I'll just bottle up my imperfections, keep the lid on tight and no one will ever know how much I struggle with this Mommy gig.  But then I discovered something unexpected about letting all those struggles just spill out; it brings amazing joy!  It is such a relief and it opens me up for a fresh perspective.

I'm going to attempt to live my messy life out loud by sharing real life parenting moments; be they exhilarating, humorous, tender or down right tedious (the moments, not the writing!...let's hope).  My aim is to encourage other Moms ("at least I'm not that bad") and to foster connection, compassion and camaraderie with one another ("at least I'm not the only one)."

Are you tired of these posts?

"I'm enjoying a family meal of kale and lentils.  My 2 yr old asked for seconds!"

Looking for more of these?

"For lunch my children fought over stale fish crackers from the between couch cushions.  And then they cried when I ate them, every last one.  I was starving."

Read on then, we're gonna get along just fine.
About Me

About.  Me.  Two little words that seem so basic, yet post kids I have to really pause to collect an answer.  So...hereitgoes.  I've done a bunch of real life adult stuff that you get credentials for, and that look pretty decent on a resume, but what I really want you to know is that I can cut crust and wipe a$$ like nobody's business.  I have 3 children, aged 6 yrs, 4yrs and 1 yrs (surprise!  Bonus Barre was his womb name).  And because I'm married to an entrepreneur my life is inevitably intertwined with our family business which we refer to as our fourth child.  Just like our human kids the business demands our attention 24/7, keeps us up at night and sometimes craps the bed.  But also like our kids, we are passionate about it and driven to nurture it.  Otherwise, I can describe myself as a Mom who succeeds and fails in motherhood every single day.  My moods are up as much as they are down.  I try to make time to laugh as much as I cry.  I love nature, citrus smells, debates, Oprah, Jimmy Fallon, Anne of Green Gables, pyjamas, live theatre, binge watching tv, books, Pale Ale and carbs.  Especially that last one.  Even better if you can add melted cheese to it.  Note the absence of physical exertion to that list...what!?!  Breastfeeding burns calories, right?  Right.
